The Dire Corrector

One of the conductor's hardest tasks is saying NO so it's taken as a YES. Making corrections, making people believe that they need to make corrections, goes with the job. The funniest roast I've had as a conductor was from a tenor in the Washington Revels, where I was the music director for 16 seasons: he malapropped "Dire Corrector" for Choir Director. Isn't it fitting?

Judy's extensive experience in conducting includes school choruses, community choirs in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Vienna, Virginia, the Ohio Northern University Chorus, most recently the Chorale and several youth/adult choirs of the UU Congregation of Fairfax, and the Washington Revels beginning in 1985.

I am available to conduct a rehearsal on short notice and to assist in sectional rehearsals.
